Monday mornings will hopefully not be too blue any more!

Why ?

Coz i wont have to hunt for an autorickshaw to get to work…Finally bought a bike today…3 months of procrastination finally over…Yippee!!

A 1978 Royal Enfield ‘Bullet….Was slightly apprehensive about buying something thats 28 yrs old and whether it would run properly..if at all 😉

However, i guess the “Bullet” falls in those category of products which seem to get better with time…My fingers are crossed though…its still early times 🙂

Bangalore roads don’t appear too bad anymore…especially at night….and the high of zipping down the roads can only be experienced…not described…

Finding the right bike was an exercise in perseverance though….

Discovered parts of Bangalore which i didnt realise existed…The hunt started with looking for the dealers in Shivaji Nagar…a congested narrow laned area which sort of reminded me of Chor Bazaar in Mumbai 🙂

My belief in the power of ‘Cold Calling’ was further strengthned as i flirted from one dealer to another in search for the ‘right’ bike….Finally landed at “Kalim Bhai’s” repair shop….

He is supposedly one of the good mechanics in the area…Luckily, one of his customers had a bike which was on the market…Met the dude in the afternoon…saw the bike…and by night, i was its happy owner 🙂

If it sounds pretty easy…dont be fooled…

Had forgotten how harsh the afternoon sun can be…and especiallyhow horrible its to be caught in a trafiic jam with cows for company..the people though were surprisingly helpful…
the taxi drivers…

the tire repair mechanics…the paanwala…all did their best to guide me to the right sources…it was quite while before i finally found the right dude…

All in all a weekend well spent 🙂

And if you have harboured dreams of owning a bullet but somehow never got down to owning one(But still wanna get one)…go get one…it may not be as zippy as the pulsar…But it will definitely put you in the “Bullet State of Mind”…if not anything else…the double looks at traffic signals will be worth your while 😉
